Altria is one of the largest tobacco companies in the world.
This company pays a dividend of over 8%, which is very solid, and the stock has been rising for a long time.
Overall, I like tobacco companies. I see the potential here and I think people will keep smoking.
I would like to buy more shares of $BTI in the next week or so as this stock seems undervalued to me at the moment.
How do you view tobacco companies and do you have any tobacco company stocks in your portfolio?
These companies are just doing great business. Both $MO and $PM. They are actually such "immortal" companies since people will always buy their products.
The$MO seems like the worse investment of the tobacco companies. It unnecessarily limits the investor to the US market, which doesn't exactly have the brightest prospects. I would much rather have exposure to the rest of the world, hence $BTI, or $PM.
I wouldn't quite say that I see potential here, but I'm not worried about demand, or that they can't pass on the declining demand through higher prices to the customer. I have $PM in my portfolio myself.
Altria and Britisj tobbaco I own, great divindends and for me people will use tobacco products all the time so I see no reason not to buy! Thanks!
I like$MO a lot too, it's true that people will always smoke, I just don't know if the majority of smoking will be classic pyro cigarettes in 20 years time... will $MO also invest in alternatives like e-cigarettes, nicotine pads, iqos etc.?
