So today it's going to be bloody in the solar sector. 🤔

Yesterday after the market closed came huge drops in two, (maybe others but I don't follow those), big companies like $ENPH-3.9% and $SEDG-2.2%.

I personally am invested in $ENPH-3.9% and am not that surprised by the overall drop, but then I wasn't expecting that much. Hopefully I'll be able to find out more info during the day at work, so far I've only read cursorily that they were downgraded because their Q3 reports are expected to be very bad. 🤔

Anyone also invested or will you be possibly entering a position? And I'd love to read your thoughts on the company and especially the situation around the sector 😊.

I entered at $115 - not a very high amount as I expected to see at least $110 due to rates. So I guess it will be even less. 25 times earnings is absolutely beautiful for me in this segment. I'm scared of those earnings, but I'll sit tight completely and hopefully it will show in a few years.

We have it the same way, unfortunately I entered earlier, so I will have to sit it out longer and I think we will definitely go even lower, I just hope it will not be as drastic as $SEDG-2.2%...anyway, as the situation turns around, I am not afraid that this company will not get it back even with the rating.

Agreed - it would be a shame not to be part of the turnaround. It's really hard to time anything with this one.

I also looked into it and found a report of a downgrade, as analysts expect ENPH to see a drop in earnings. Another factor then may be the uncertainty about the future in Europe, SolarEdge Technologies has said that many customers in Europe are stopping buying altogether and quite a few (unknown figure) have cancelled their orders.

Well, so far, we're getting the same news with the rating. It's a shame. I hope the companies make it because on the one hand I don't really get it when the right Europe show in particular is screaming how it wants green energy and now it's tying up all of a sudden? ... I know it's not the main thing but hopefully as the economy improves in general and rates come down there will be interest again and also of course it will be trying for these companies to finance debt. The $SEDG-2.2% one is probably a little worse off yet. 🤔

SEDG's rating also fell on expectations of weak results.
