Volkswagen, Renault and Stellantis are now thinking the previously unthinkable - these sworn competitors are exploring mergers to produce cheaper electric cars and stave off existential threats. With Chinese competitors, along with US carmaker Tesla, showing the weaknesses of Europe's largest carmakers, it is clear that the sense of urgency is growing and that business as usual is not an option that will ensure victory.

So I think it would definitely affect the market and if something like that were to happen, I would definitely become more interested in the sector.
