I love $PBR-1.4%... just the dividends next week will basically give me an average salary "for nothing". And on top of that, the stock made 5% last week... 🥳

PBR
$16.43 -$0.23 -1.37%

I'm going to repeat myself, but this was my best purchase last year (early February 2022). I'm even more pleased that it was my third largest position in my portfolio at the time. It's thrown me a wonderful appreciation on those dividends since then, and currently the position itself is even slightly in the black. I'll be holding for a while :)

So I have to say this is the first I've heard of this company, but 41.4% divi? You don't just see that... Is there a catch? :D

That's a strange rocket... :)

Well, just...

It does - a giant geopolitical risk :)

Yeah, but maybe it'll pay off

It may or may not have more hooks. Petrobas had even higher dividends a few months back (last year in the third quarter it had more revenue than Saudi Aramco...). But it has a history of scandals linked - somewhat unhappily - to the current Brazilian president who replaced Bolsonaro. Bolsonaro was more pro-investor and pro-US, Lula (the current president) is more BRICS oriented. From this and from past experience, then, comes the risk and fear of investors that rapid and negative changes can take place in a company. Plus there is also the oil price factor (although Petrobas itself has declared that the price could still be much lower and the dividends would still be more than interesting).

Petrobas' current strategy is due to end sometime in 2026, unless politicians scrap it. Personally, I've been invested since last February, and the position has already returned in dividends paid, so I'm holding on and taking the risk. However, at the moment I would be afraid to take a position as large as the one I bought in Petrobas last year.

I understand and thanks for the reply!

Agreed, I really like them too and they make me happy, so I have noticeably less there, it's still not on an average salary. 😂 I want to buy gradually but the price has really gone up now so I wonder if there will be some correction, what do you conclude the increase in the last month? 😊

I appreciate the courage behind Brazil, not many people there want anything to do with investments.

Let's toast 😂
