How do you feel about investing in gold?

Do any of you here invest in gold, other commodities or, for example, companies that are closely linked to gold and the gold price? I'm thinking of companies like $RGLD-0.6% $DRD-0.3% etc.

I'd be very interested to hear your views on this sector, as I'm not that familiar with the investment sector myself, and I'd love to hear your thoughts on whether you think it could be a lucrative investment for the future.

I've only traded $GLD-0.4% ETF options so far, otherwise it makes more sense to me to send a smaller amount per month into real gold and then keep it at home.

Agreed, kind of a second form of money under the pillow.

I don't currently invest in gold, but in the future I might want to buy some physical gold for diversification.

Maybe as a kind of "keeper" of value and as a conservative investment for the old years it might not be a bad idea :)

For diversification, why not, but really to a minimal extent.

Do you yourself have any part of your portfolio in gold?

Only in physical, but really minimal, at least the liquidity is fine.

As an investment, physical gold is bullshit compared to stocks. Gold has the function of a store of value. The most you can invest in gold is through miners, as gold is used in other sectors than just as an investment.

You're right, I agree.
