Why would I want to expose myself to an area I don't understand? That's like boldly going into a test I didn't prepare for and expecting something other than a 5 in the result :D

I don't mean that literally again, sorry for the bad wording. However, when it's a riskier sector, but I can see the potential there, the ETF may be a good alternative.

Why do something like that? It's risky whether you have one share or a bundle. Invest for the long term in things you understand as much as possible.

You're right, and I agree. Of course, it's not that I don't understand the sector completely, but I'm not sure about it, for example, or I find the sector risky, but I see potential there, so at that point ETFs seem like a fine alternative.
