Warren Buffett discusses probate in rare letter in which he pledges to donate "99% plus" of wealth after giving millions of Berkshire Hathaway shares
We have big news today and generally it's going to be pretty busy again. In the meantime, I'm wondering, what about you and the housing market?
About two months ago Paul posted info here regarding $BRK-B'+1.3% s purchases and albeit smaller amounts, but the inclusion of $LEN-0.1% and $DHI-0.3% in their portfolio. These two companies are in the US building, building and selling...

Have a lovely Sunday, I wonder what all you are driving DCA (if anything)? I'm going ETF + $BRK-B+1.3%. I also used to ride CEZ, KB and $GOOGL+2.6%.
I only eat DCA, so to speak, as part of portfolio dilution/rebalancing. Alternatively, I also break up my purchases into multiple parts. But that I regularly put the same amount in the same title, no.
I added $BRK-B+1.3% to my portfolio this week, and while it's not an ETF, I'm going to go DCA there now too. Did you add or remove anything this week?
What do you think of Berkshire $BRK-B'+1.3%s quarterly results? 🤔
Berkshire Hathaway reported second-quarter earnings per share (EPS) of $3.75, missing analysts' estimates of $3.76. Revenue for the quarter was $82.12 billion, compared to the consensus estimate of $82.14 billion.
The results are great and I don't have $BRK-B+1.3% stock in my portfolio, but I'm thinking about buying a little something.
Warren Buffett (Berkshire Hathaway $BRK-B+1.3%) sold 70% of his investment in Activision Blizzard $ATVI+0.1% in the second quarter, and appears to have lost some of the gains as a federal judge said Microsoft can complete its $68.7 billion acquisition of the video game maker.
Maybe they have some more information we don't know about. Personally, I'd like to see $MSFT+1.5% make the acquisition.
Berkshire Hathaway $BRK-B+1.3% announced that it has acquired additional shares of oil company Occidental Petroleum Corp $OXY-0.9%, increasing its stake to more than 25%.
Great news, I've been overbought recently too as they were down quite a bit so hopefully they'll go up already, but I trust them, if Buffett, so do I. 😁
Warren Buffett and his generosity with $BRK-A+1.2% $BRK-B+1.3%
This investing legend has given an annual gift to five foundations, bringing his total charitable giving to $50 billion already. Which is more than his fortune was in 2006 when he first planned these grants.
Like this, generosity... I don't know how they do it in the US, but here you can put donations to charity as a tax expense... so you just don't give the money to the government, but to another company... but on the surface, of course, he seems like a do-gooder.)
Berkshire Hathaway $BRK-A+1.2% $BRK-B+1.3%boosted its holdings in five Japanese trading companies in the last quarter. The five companies are Itochu, Marubeni, Mitsubishi, Mitsui and Sumitomo.
Unfortunately, those companies are not so cheap anymore, ytd have increased from 40-70%
The 10 largest companies in the S&P 500:
1) Apple $AAPL+2.2% - 7.4%
2) Microsoft $MSFT+1.5% - 6.7%
3) Google $GOOG+2.4% - 3.8%
4) Amazon $AMZN+1.2% - 3.1%
5) NVDIA $NVDA-1.9% - 2.6%
6) Berkshire Hathaway $BRK-B+1.3% - 1.7%
7) Tesla $TSLA+2.1% - 1.7%
8) META $META+5.9% - 1.6%
9) Exxon Mobil $XOM-1.2% - 1.3%
10) United Health Group $UNH-0.4% - 1.3%
Leaving out the six. ...it makes me wonder how it's all based on tech companies... :)
Do you own $BRK-B+1.3%? I've always been in favor of indexes where I peek continuously, but $BRK-B+1.3% is quite tempting :)
I've got it written in my notes, and I'll have a look. He would like to invest using the DCA method. So I'm tempted too and it's quite possible I'll include $BRK-B+1.3% in my portfolio soon :)
Since we have the $BRK-B+1.3% Annual Meeting today, let's see how much dividend money is going to Warren Buffett. That's something to work with, isn't it? 😉
