Volkswagen $VWAP.BR+0.3% is in talks with Tesla $TSLA+0.5% to transition to NACS.

Volkswagen Group and its brands are currently evaluating the implementation of the Tesla North American Charging Standard (NACS) for its North American customers.
Electrify America, Volkswagen's electric vehicle charging network unit, has more than 850 charging stations with approximately 4,000 chargers in the United States and Canada. This would add to Tesla's nearly 18,000 chargers.

Great news for North American customers and could help sales.

This is getting pretty cool... if they make a deal, this will be another huge notch up for Tesla after Ford...

And $TSLA+0.5% is going to charge them a fee? Seems like a shame to me, since that was one of the main advantages for them - not sharing chargers and infrastructure with anyone. As a Tesla owner, I'd probably be annoyed

Now that's interesting news, I don't understand it because I really don't know cars, but I've been considering buying a VW for a while now, so this could be great for both parties.

Lest NACS charging eventually become a global standard like "usb"... that could shoot Tesla even further 🙃
