You know Equinor? $EQNR
Equinor is a Norwegian energy company engaged in the exploration, production, transportation and refining of oil, gas and other forms of energy.
The state itself has a nearly 70% stake in Equinor, which may be one reason why the company is relatively unknown among the public. However, the Norwegian government is reportedly in talks with the management of $EQNR about buybacks.
The downside, however, may be the high taxation of energy companies in Norway under the windfall tax.
Norwegian companies are often very attractive from an ESG perspective, specifically Equinor has committed to be carbon neutral by 2050. However, like any other energy company, activists are going against Equinor. Specifically, they are demonstrating against their Rosebank oil and gas field.
And where does $EQNR stand valuation-wise? The valuation is the main reason I'm interested in the company.
The company is also generating very nice profits. They maintain decent margins due to low costs. Of course, these are going to decline in the coming years compared to last year. The debt is covered by free cash by a large margin.
What do you think of the company? Do you also see potential in the company?
I'm not familiar with this company, but it looks interesting and I'll definitely check it out.
