INTERESTING COMPANIES WITH INVESTMENT POTENTIAL

The mention of three real estate investment trusts (REITs) - Host Hotels & Resorts, Equinix and Prologis - is particularly interesting in the context of the current performance of the real estate sector, which is one of the worst performing sectors in the S&P 500. While the broader market is up 12% year-to-date, REITs are up just over 3%.

Host Hotels & Resorts $HST+3.6%

Host Hotels & Resorts, which specializes in luxury and upper-upscale hotels, offers a relatively high dividend yield of around 5%. This yield is particularly attractive for investors looking for stable income, especially in a low interest rate environment. Although the company's stock is down 17% this year, analysts see the potential for 30% upside in the share price, signaling confidence in the company's future performance once the hotel sector recovers from economic fluctuations and adjusts to changing market conditions.

HST
$18.53 $0.65 +3.64%

Equinix $EQIXX+1.2%and Prologis $PLD+1.2%

Equinix, which operates data centers, is well positioned within the AI and digitalization boom, making it an attractive investment despite a lower dividend yield compared to Host Hotels. Prologis, a leader in industrial real estate, particularly logistics and warehousing space, is also benefiting from the growing demand for e-commerce and the globalisation of supply chains.

EQIX
$870.99 $10.04 +1.17%
PLD
$128.50 $1.48 +1.17%

Comparison in the context of the sector as a whole

While REITs as a whole have not performed strongly this year, these three companies represent different aspects of the sector that have the potential to excel due to specific market conditions. Host Hotels may recover as the travel industry recovers, Equinix benefits from technology growth, and Prologis benefits from trends in logistics and supply chains. This mix makes their mention in the context of the broader REIT market noteworthy, as they offer both growth opportunities and income diversification.

I think Equinix is an interesting company. For a lower price one could definitely think about buying there :)

I've heard of $PLD+1.2%, but I'm sticking with the big REITs, so $O-2.4% and $VICI-0.8%.
