Have you bought shares in a company in an IPO?
It is quite common for the share price to rise immediately after an IPO. I have heard the opinion that it may not be a bad idea to take advantage of this with a bracket order. I am wondering if anyone has experience with this.

I'm also attaching an interesting figure (note, it's as of 3/13/2023) that compares the market capitalization of the 20 largest tech companies that had IPOs after 2020.
This shows us that investing in an IPO has its risks.

I am already watching the IPO today and I am also waiting. I won't lie though and yes I also got burned when I started investing and didn't have that information, experience yet, I took the IPO as an advantage, it's new, it will grow, well and yes it's not most of the time. (sometimes maybe it is) ... on Coinbase I also got burned, I got a purchase for 86$.🤦‍♂️ I'm holding on though, I guess I got used to the slump and other titles kind of wiped it out. But I believe that if they can withstand the courts and can function with increasing regulations, when BTC grows again, they will too.

I have only traded the Coinbase IPO and there has been that scenario where the stock just plunges to new lows since the IPO. Fortunately they were quick scalping option trades and even though they didn't all work out, it wasn't as bad as if I had bought the stock and held it until today.

Yep $QS+2.3% right after the IPO, good experience to avoid FOMO even though I avoided the biggest one and reacted quite early by not buying at a higher price so at the peak when I was over 200% plus I didn't sell anything and then just watched the downside and averaged down. Anyway, I'm holding a few thousand shares currently minus 50% with the goal that if it eventually works out I'll buy the Porsche QS inside and if not I'll write it off. Since then I keep trying 🚀/⚰️ale in smaller amounts and most of it goes into ETFs😂

I bought Coinbase and I still regret it a bit... :-D

I've never bought in an IPO... just because of the initial hike, I'd rather wait.

No, I'd rather wait and see the results before I invest.
