📈 Amazon is planning a massive data center expansion in Europe!
Amazon Web Services, a division of Amazon $AMZN, is in talks with the Italian government for an investment billion euros to expand its data centers. The move is part of the giant's wider strategy to strengthen its cloud infrastructure in Europe. ☁️
The discussion revolves around the possible expansion of the current site in Milan or the construction of a new centre. AWS and Italian authorities have not yet provided any official comment, but such plans are of great importance to the entire Europe.
AWS already in the year 2020 has opened its first cloud region in Italy and plans to have an 2029 to invest 2 billion euros by 2029. Its major customers include sports car manufacturers such as Ferrari or the insurance company Assicurazioni Generali. 🏦
Recently AWS announced an investment 15.7 billion euros in data centers in Aragon In Spain, demonstrating the growing importance of cloud services in the region. Germany is also not far behind with planned investments of EUR 7.8 billion by the year 2040. At the beginning of May, the company acquired a major customer, namely Telefonica Deutschlandwhich plans to move 1 million users to the cloud AWS. 📊
But the competition is not lagging behind. Alphabet $GOOGL, which in 2020 struck a groundbreaking deal with Italian bank Intesa Sanpaolo, has invested €1 billion to create two cloud regions in Italy. Microsoft $MSFT launched its first cloud region in the country last year as part of a$1.5 billion investment plan .
In addition, Microsoft and OpenAI are collaborating on an ambitious data center project in the state Iowa v USAthat could cost up to $100 billioninvolving an artificial intelligence supercomputer called "Stargate"to be launched in 2028.
Investment in cloud services are gaining momentum and breaking records thanks to the huge interest in artificial intelligence features. This is just the beginning of the changes expected in the$270 billion cloud infrastructure market . 💰
I believe that this tech troika will play a part in the future development of data centres across Europe!
Which cloud service provider do you like the most? Which company do you use cloud storage and similar services from?
I'm a firm believer in this threesome and a few others. AI pretty much shifts the technology evolution again. $GOOG and $MSFT I have, positions at super prices and on more significant dips I would definitely buy. Unfortunately I don't have a position in $AMZN, would like to ...but don't know when to buy. After all, it would be better to buy in a downturn, but I don't think we'll see a price around $100 in them anymore. 🙈
I don't use their services directly, but other people and especially large companies do. I have shares in my portfolio and will continue to hold them. So far, it still looks like solid and rapid growth for this sector.
I really like Amazon's approach as they are really stepping in it a lot. However, I use services from MSTF and Google.
