🔍 Global technology blackout: recovery and challenges ahead for CrowdStrike! 🌐

Recovering from a global technology outage can be challenging and lengthy. The company that caused this widespread outage says the faulty update has been pulled, but thousands of businesses are still facing serious issues.

The CrowdStrike $CRWD-3.9%software glitch affected systems at the deepest level, meaning that restoring and fixing them will be a major headache in many cases.

Further complicating matters is the fact that some affected computers are located in remote locations and operate without human intervention. "I think this is the biggest IT outage in history," said a security expert.

Software vulnerabilities at the kernel level, where CrowdStrike operates, can expose cyberattacks, but also cause critical bugs such as the well-known "Blue Death" on Windowssystems .

Solving the problem requires manual intervention by an administrator, which is time-consuming and expensive. Kevin Beaumont said the process cannot be automated, which poses a significant challenge for affected businesses.

Microsoft $MSFT-1.6% reported that some systems have successfully recovered after repeated reboots, but also acknowledged that this solution may not be possible in all cases. Eric O'Neill, a cybersecurity expert, warned that businesses without fast backups are now in a difficult situation.

Recovery will be extremely costly, both for large corporations and smaller firms. According to the independent security researcher, many organisations will need physical staff to repair equipment manually.

Experts warn of the domino effect an outage can cause in supply chains. Repairing all affected computers could require millions of hours of work, leading to huge costs.

The problem with updating CrowdStrike was caused by a badly formatted file that caused the system to crash Windows. CEO Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has assured that they are working with CrowdStrike to provide technical support to customers.

In my opinion, it's not all over yet and CrowdStrike's stock is sure to look lower!
What's your take on the whole situation?

It's a big problem, but it's not a reason for the company to go out of business or to stop thriving. It's going to cost a lot of time and money.

Well, looking at the map of active flights in the US was pretty scary, but the error was fixed. Holt, it can happen, but it shouldn't.
