Meta Platforms cancels fact-checking program in the US

- Change of approach: Meta Platforms $META (the parent company of Facebook, Instagram and Threads) is scrapping its fact-checking program in the US and introducing Community Notes, inspired by Elon Musk's Social Network X.

- Community Notes features: Users will be able to Report misleading posts and provide context.

- Regional restrictions: In the European Union, Meta $META does not plan to make this change for now, Reuters reported.

- Target of the change: Reduce costs and get users more involved in verifying content. (Facebook, Instagram and Threads' parent company) is shutting down in the U.S. Fact-checking program and introduces a system Community Notesinspired by Elon Musk's Social Network X.


That model works well for Company X, so I believe it will work well here too. Plus Meta is now changing partly management and that's a cool move too.

I think it's a great report and overall I liked the CEO's statement and the direction of the company is great.
