Hello, investors!

I came across a post on Xk about the possible entry of Škoda auto a. s. on the Prague Stock Exchange. Do you think it would make sense and would be an interesting opportunity for investors? There was a lot of windfall tax as a negative in the comments and also a negative view of the overall capital market investing in the Czech Republic because of the government. Link to post. Among the pros of this move, it was mentioned that people could participate in the ownership of domestic companies and also that, for example, pension funds would get the opportunity to invest in Czech dividend titles.

Personally, I don't think the likelihood of Skoda going public is very high, as it is a subsidiary of $VWA.BR and thus would be a complicated process from a legal and financial point of view. It is also a fact that concerns usually do not do this.

Skoda Auto achieved significant profit growth in 2023. Its sales rose 26.2% to €26.54 billion and operating profit increased to €1.77 billion, an increase of 182.3% on the previous year. The return on sales was 6.7% (7.5% excluding Russia). These results were boosted by a wide range of models including electric cars and the modernisation of the popular Superb and Kodiaq models.

What do you think about this option?

I'd probably pursue it, but I wouldn't invest in it.

It won't happen anyway, as they know it would be pointless and the stock wouldn't rise anyway.

It could be really interesting and if there is an IPO I would probably think about starting a smaller position.

If that were to happen, I would definitely watch the IPO, but overall, the Prague Stock Exchange shares are not that interesting to me.

The odds are really low and it's almost certainly not going to happen. I find $P911.DE the most interesting stock out of this group, but it's not doing well either.

I guess a lot of people would invest in Skoda, but I don't think that's going to happen. I'd consider it too, though. I don't think it would help them much at VW, current investors would probably be happy to see it.
